OSHER LIFELONG LEARNING INSTITUTE: UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS
Sean Fitzgibbon, a visual storyteller, will discuss how to create and sell a graphic nonfiction book, using the strange tales of the Crescent Hotel as his backdrop. What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel, is his fully illustrated, award winning, graphic nonfiction work. This book explores the fascinating, and often tragic years when the Crescent Hotel became The Baker Hospital, attracting cancer patients from around the country during the Depression era.

2023 BORDERTOWN PARACON
Join us Saturday, September 30th for the 2023 Bordertown Paracon! This event runs from 10AM-7:30PM. Graphic novelist Sean Fitzgibbon will be giving an author presentation at the the event from 4:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, September 30th at the Caney Rec Center in Caney, KS. He’ll also be a panelist at the event. Copies of his graphic nonfiction book What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel will also be available for purchase along with WFIT prints and other related items.
The Paracon was established to be a networking tool and one-day retreat for all enthusiasts in the paranormal, cryptozoology, ufology and supernatural fields in the four-states area.

FIGURE DRAWING WORKSHOP
If you’d like to learn how to draw the human figure with confidence and authority join us for Figure Drawing classes at the Community Creative Center at Walton Art Center’s Nadine Baum Studios. This class is for both beginners and seasoned professionals. I’ve been teaching the class for nearly 20 years and look forward to sharing tips and techniques so you can successfully render the figure for comics, illustration, concept art, gallery work or whatever you’d like!

21C EXHIBIT
Original pages from Sean Fitzgibbon’s book “What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel” are now being exhibited at 21c Museum Hotel on the fourth floor gallery in downtown Bentonville from mid April through early October. Be sure to check out the exhibition and pick up a copy of the book in the 21c gift shop.
Artist Sean Fitzgibbon explores unusual, real places and events through his work. His documentary-style graphic nonfiction, What Follows is True, explores the Crescent Hotel’s strange two years as the Baker Hospital, one of the darkest and most controversial legends in the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
