AUTHOR TALK AND BOOK SIGNING AT WEBB CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Join artist and author Sean Fitzgibbon at the Webb City Public Library for a discussion of his book, What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel. Discover the gripping history behind this 240-page, fully painted graphic nonfiction, which delves into the Crescent Hotel’s eerie past during its two years as the Baker Hospital—a Depression-era cancer treatment center.

What Follows Is True weaves together oral histories, newspaper articles, and Norman Baker's own writings to explore this chilling chapter in history and the complex nature of the era’s real-life villains. The book has earned a Kirkus Review star for exceptional merit, with Kirkus calling it "a gripping, moody, illustrated chronicle of the notorious Crescent Hotel."
